Erskine Hospital

"Hello Bill, 159 in the end!"

In her second year, Lizzie Millar hosted World Run Day -  Glasgow. This year it was on Remembrance Day which is a special day for Erskine Hospital. When asked how much World Run Day raised, Lizzie commented "We hope around £2000 but it is hard to estimate as sponsorship money has to be gathered in. About 160 people participated in the event!

Erskine Hospital first opened it doors, at Bishopton, near Glasgow, in 1916 as an independent charity to care for the wounded returning from the battlefields of the First World War.

Since that day, through both World Wars and the modern day conflicts such as Korea, the Falklands, and Gulf, Erskine has cared for more than 65,000 sailors, soldiers and airmen and women. Each has benefited from the unique care only Erskine provides for our Armed Forces.

Although you may have missed World Run Day, feel free to make a donation to Erskine Hospital on any day throughout the year!
