I've gotten mail from places all over the world.... and this is one of the most interesting....

Dear Bill,

A former Moldova Peace Corps volunteer who now lives
in Oregon and works for the Race for the Cure organization, contacted me and my fellow volunteers a few months ago, saying there were extra race t-shirts that she would like to give us to use with camps, schools or somewhere in our villages.

All we needed to do was raise the money for shipping and she would do the rest.  I immediately asked my friends back home
for help and my running club donated the money to get
me 70 shirts!  All right, I know I am rambling, but finally I am getting to the point!  A person in my club had the bright idea to use me as the club's charity for World Run Day 2003--a swell idea, I thought.  So, technically, I guess I am the charity
for whom my club ran last Sunday. I had an excellent run!  As I got injured in a half-marathon last January and didn't start running normal mileage until May, I ran my first 10-miler
since January last Sunday!

Running here is more difficult and I am now starting to increase my mileage--in addition to running I have to walk
everywhere, some days about five miles (without the help of Power Bars) so my legs always seem tired. Anyway--my Rave Run was great! It was cold, rainy, windy, muddy and I was sick, but due to the fact that I was a charity and it was World Run Day, I couldn't just put a 0 in my running log-now could I?  I ran out five miles and back on a road to a nearby village
flanked by rolling hills with beautiful farm land and orchards.

So, Bill, is that enough information? Sorry it took me
so long to get to the point.

(A great point indeed!!)
