World Run Day - Bemidji, MN

WORLD RUN DAY FOR UNITED WAY A SUCCESS

Approximately 80 runners enjoyed a sunny fall run along beautiful Lake Bemidji , while supporting the United Way . World Run Day for United Way  took place on November 7, 2004 . This annual international event pays tribute to both running and charity. Proceeds from the event went to the United Way of Bemidji Area’s 2004 fall campaign.

World Run Day events included a half-marathon, a 10K run and a 5K run. Runners ran through different "countries" at mile markers and water stations represented by Bemidji State University international students, Voyageurs Expeditionary School students and other community volunteers. All three events started and finished at the Bemidji State University Gillette Recreation Center .  A special thanks goes to the following sponsors for the success of the event: Lueken’s Village Foods, Paul Bunyan Broadcasting, Thunderbird Graphics, Kraus Anderson Construction, Bemidji State University , Pepsi Nei Bottling, and First National Bank Bemidji.
