We were 18 persons walking (12km) but some people were with us in their cars. Two persons in one car giving water during the walk and eight more persons that were all the way with us. Mainly parents of my pupils, and two other teachers from my school. Besides an ambulance and journalists...they also "runned" by car.

I can`t tell you exactly how much funds we raised because one of the students is the responsable for the money and in our school, some students told that they wouldn`t "run" but they would like to help with money. I will try to have at least 100 euros to make the deposit, because i asked for a symbolic donation.

About the story... What i can tell you is that we didn`t had time to manage everything as we would like. I`m saying "we" because i met World run day at 1st november night, i spoke about it with my 10 students from a classroom of "practices of social support" 2nd november in the morning and they said they would like to make part of it. So, in two days (2nd and 3rd November) they spoke with their collegues and teachers at school, made flyers and send fax to mass media. Everything was managed thursday morning and friday till 5pm . Of course, we found a lot of unexpected rules that wouldn`t allow  us to make part of that world event. So, we decided to make it differently.

We decided to do a sunday morning walk but the reason to be at 5th November was the world run day.

Because we didn`t had a lot of time to prepare everything, we were a few walkers. Nevertheless, at least around 2000 persons at our school heard about world run day, world food program and "hunger" was the subject of teenagers conversation and some teachers at school and in coffe shops.

I believe that the most important wasn`t the number of participants, but the fact of people heard talking about it. About hunger, world run day, world food program... People didn`t stay indifferent to that subject. One collegue of mine told me last friday that some kids were talking about run day in a coffe shop near our school. In that moment i thought that we were a sucess already!  I believe that was our sucess.

The support of mass media, it was our cherry in the top of the cake.

You know... i`m very happy because besides i had only two days to take care of everything, some nacional newspapers, local radios, newspapers and net tv spoke about world run day and the reason to make all the world run at 5th November.
