WORLD RUN DAY - Wendell, ID:

L to R: Dalton Ling, Heather Cavileer, Molly Hanson, Aaron Priester

What a great day for running!  We all share a love of the outdoors and the freedom of running, and to be able to share it together on World Run Day was exceptional!  Dalton, Heather, and Aaron have been classmates for over 6 years, and it has been my privilege to join them as their teacher.  We share runs whenever possible, with the help of our trusty runner (we run, so we don't use a "stroller"!).  Our World Run Day event was a 10K relay, consisting of three 2+ mile laps around the town of Wendell, Idaho.

We woke to rain on World Run Day, but just as Heather and I headed out for the first lap, with lots of smiles at the wind in our faces, the rain stopped, and remained dry until we were loading up after finishing our relay.  Dalton and I shared the second lap, enjoying the sounds of town and passing cars, when we realized we had a flat tire about half way through.  Thankfully, we were near a gas station, and with my husband's help, we were back to running within a few minutes!  Aaron and I headed out for the third and final lap, and found as many bumps as we could to enjoy the ride!

A run is best, when shared with friends, and the smiles and laughs we shared puts this relay at the top of the BEST RUNS list!  We are already looking forward to World Run Day 2009, and hope to include more students and staff from our school!
