WORLD RUN DAY - Winchester, England:

The start of World Run Day - Winchester 2006

Well done, everyone who helped with WWRD! At close of business on Friday we had 163 people registered: at the start of the race today we had 239 people registered! From an initial look at the money, we have made just shy of £3000, but I know there is some sponsorship money still to come. There are one or two minor expenses to pay, but the money still owed outweighs the money that we owe, so I’m expecting the final count to be between £3000 and £4000.

Thanks to H4 for putting their name, some sponsorship (and today’s run) to this.

Thanks to all helpers, from the catering staff, to the marshals, to the admin staff, and especially to Susan, who has kept me (comparatively) sane while typing in 239 names and address (mostly written in indecipherable handwriting!) Next year I’m going to design and implement my own on-line booking system!

We had an official photographer on the day, Gemma, who was ably assisted by my daughter, Abbi. The photos will be put on a website soon (Sky wrecked the photographer’s internet access this afternoon!) We’ll let people know when the photos are available: there may be a small commission from those.

I haven’t compiled the results yet: It has taken me about 5 hours to complete all the registration details and cash up: I’m dead now! I’ll compile the results tomorrow!!!
