Group events of 10-20 people were also reported by many.
We can once
again report the success
of this event in helping to promote running for charity on one day
worldwide!
Before
we proceed with our individual results, our heartfelt congratulations to
all individuals who helped prepare for World Run Day 2002 and to
the charities that benefited from the thousands of dollars raised in
group events, and also in our individual event.
Our
special thanks this year to www.active.com
– our event registration
specialists. We were late in getting some of the registration websites
completed this year, but we doubled our virtual run participants.
Special
thanks to the radio and television stations that helped to promote the
event. Our one disadvantage this year was not having a "local
contact" in each city. If you'd like to volunteer as a contact
please contact us at runday2003@yahoo.com
with volunteer in the subject heading. Several TV stations were willing
to air local contacts, but we were incapable of providing them names.
The
careful work to rollout registration for this event was most appreciated
by all. Additional thanks also to our translation specialists. Their
help really makes this event global...
"World Run Day 2002 certainly opened some eyes – and
obviously many hearts!" "World Run Day 2003 is literally open
to the world. Registration starts in 2003 to accommodate many more
runners.

runners.

& Perseverance!
