Ways to Celebrate

Scroll down to discover the many ways runners can celebrate World Run Day.
Other than running, it is a time to help others understand the benefits of running, discuss training plans with other runners, talk about your schedule of upcoming races, your diet, and other numerous topics that runners love discussing.

Watch a famous running movie. “Without Limits” is appropriate – considering our t-shirt design this year.

Choose the best way to celebrate the sport you love.

Running on a Treadmill

It’s as simple as your morning, or possibly late afternoon, workout. Simply step onto the treadmill and become part of our event. You may not easily see it, but you will be running with other people around the globe on this day. Many will be donating an amount to their favorite charity (by simply writing them a check with the memo portion reading: World Run Day). Your job is to share in the celebration of running on this day and if you are able – send out a selfie to your friends or a “viddie” (yes, we coined a term for Video-Selfie).

In a Race

It’s as simple as racing some of your friends on a special course (please obey safety rules of common sense). It may also be within a current race that you’ve registered for on World Run Day. If there is already a “virtual run” you may want to consider joining it – but always feel free to join World Run Day where you can post your favorite quote or dedication, tell us your favorite music that inspires you to run, and tell us the reason that you run. At the same time we will put your name on the back of your event shirt and let you know that you are running with other people around the world  on this day. Many will be donating an amount to their favorite charity (by simply writing them a check with the memo portion reading: World Run Day. Your job is to share in the celebration of running on this day and if you are able to – send out a selfie or “viddie”to your friends (yes, we coined a term for Video Selfie).

With Family & Friends

It’s as simple as running with your family or friends either in a group together or reaching out to them in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Trenton Michigan, Sydney, Paris, Rome, or Barcelona. Wherever they live – they are able to participate in World Run Day as well. Many will be donating an amount to their favorite charity (by simply writing them a check with the memo portion reading: World Run Day. By Yourself Anywhere

Whether you are alone on a beach or running around your local neighborhood, you can celebrate World Run Day with people all over the world. Take some great photos that capture the day. Show the beauty of your surroundings. Let people know in advance and you may not be the only one running on the beach. Use social media to convey your plans to people in advance. And try to figure out what other types of names will be on the back of your event shirt when you receive it. Will they be from the USA, Europe, Asia, or some other area of the world. We’ve got your back on this event! The World Run Day T-shirt back that is! Good luck on your run!

The Art + GPS Run

Whether you’re in the middle of a big city, small town, suburban area, or on the beach (as shown below). Record your GPS image and upload to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any social media site you are posting to. It doesn’t have to be perfect – it’s the act that counts!  We’ve got your back on this event! The World Run Day T-shirt back that is! Good luck on your run!

Necessity is The Mother of Invention

Necessity is the mother of invention: “A need or problem encourages creative efforts to meet the need or solve the problem”. This saying appears in the dialogue Republic, by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato. Once again going back to our Greek running roots.
We’re hoping people can get their running companions together for this day to partake in what we believe to be a “Paradigm Shift” in the running-for-charity space. And all at the same time contributing to your health and the well-being of others.
We Believe you can do it…

The Group Beach Run

Always a classic run for beach-lovers. If you live near a beach enjoy the beauty of the sunrise, sun rays at midday or the sunset. One of the classic and artistic examples is once again from the movie “Chariots of Fire”
Always looking for those INTERNATIONAL RUNNERS. If you know some … send them our way. Or better yet surprise them with their last name on the back of their running event shirt. Find out where they end up running and what their reason to run is. These participants run from Asia to Europe.

Seeking Permission from H3 to insert picture here and partner for our run.

Per Wikipedia: “The Hash House Harriers (HHH or H3) is an international group of non-competitive running social clubs. An event organized by a club is known as a hashhash run or simply hashing, with participants calling themselves hashers or hares and hounds.” These runners have a very rich tradition and terms that will cause our translator button to work overtime. Google the term and you’ll discover a popular running culture. We could go “on and on” here ….. but we’ve got just a few more categories to list. We will provide a beer discount for every runner in this group that registers! We are searching for a Beer Expert to help guide our Beer Running Culture.

Well, just use your imagination. Make no mistake, we respect these runners. As Our event has stated since 1999: “Let the Runner Decide”

We don’t want to leave anyone out here do we? It’s expressed as an art form – and obviously they know the benefits of running. Both female and male runners can be seen streaking across the internet. Please try to stay on this page and register before you search for these runners.

We will be working with various running niches throughout the year to bring awareness to different types of runners, clubs, and charity organizations that support the concept of World Run Day. Our Event Director will be contacting them leading up to World Run Day.

It is an opportunity to provide discounts to runners and provide dollars to our Running Agents.

Create Your Own

Use your imagination to create your own personal video of why you are running this day. Send your your video to others on social media. They may want to run with you – or donate to your cause. (To our female and other gender viewers – our image here intended to represent all varieties of runners).
Please remember to send us an e-mail detailing your experience.
Have a great run!

There are so many types of runners and groups that run in the world today. It would be impossible to list all of them on this page. However, we hope to capture their stories and what they will do on World Run Day. Look for our documentary in mid-Dec.
