Join us for the Jordan’s Lobsterfest Boardwalk Run on November 11th. Runners will be challenged to run the entire Long Beach Boardwalk from end to end. Your name and time will be entered into the LONG BEACH BOARDWALK Registry! This is a new feature branded with the Long Beach Historical Society and the City of Long Beach. The event will consist of two components:

1. A race from the westernmost part of the Boardwalk (New York Ave.) to the easternmost part (Neptune Blvd). This is a distance accurately measured of 2.2 miles. There will be a start line marker, a mile marker, two mile marker and finish line marker. If you have a watch please use the split timer function for each mile to track your progress. A finish line time will be recorded on video for you to review at our celebration ceremony – at Jordan’s Lobster Farm.

In the tradition of  “Chariots of FIre” the Churchbells will start the run at approximately 9:00 AM. Please arrive at the starting line at least 15 minutes before the start – as nobody will be able to stop them (Picture of St. Igantious bells – include the history of how long the bells have been ringing). There will be only one water stop (at the one mile mark) and at the finish line. We ask that runners move onto the beack after the race in order that boardwalk congestion may be alleviated. Please feel free to share your accomplishment with your Social Media crowd after the event

A World Run Day celebration will be held at noon at Jordan’s which will include a 1 1/4 lb lobster, Corn on the Cob, Baked potato, and your 2018 World Run Day souvenir T-Shirt for those who did not pick it up the week prior. 

2. As we expect the race event to quickly fill up, we are offering all runners in the area to celebrate with us by running the boardwalk at any time during the day and recording your time. We believe nearly everyone has a watch or iphone that can record time? If not, please feel free to contact us and we will help you figure something out.   

We ask that you post your results on our website after you complete the event (a link will be provided during registration) so that it may be entered into the Long Beach Boardwalk Running Registry that has been created. If you cannot upload please send an e-mail to records@runday.com. We will do our best to post your results for you.
